Determination of factors affecting the incidence of recurrence of nodular goiter. Materials and
methods: The long-term results of surgical treatment were studied in 453 patients with nodular goiter operated in
the surgical departments of the 1st clinic of SamMI and Samarkand city medical association. Results: Among residents
living in the iodine-deficient region, the relapse rate depends on the follow-up period in the postoperative period, the
morphological structure of nodular formations and the volume of surgical intervention. The functional state of the
thyroid gland does not affect the recurrence rate. Conclusions: The best long-term results in patients with nodular
goiter living in the iodine-deficient region were obtained after thyroidectomy and extremely subtotal resection, since
relapse with this volume rarely developed in the late stages.
